The name Buraco do Padre refers to the history of Jesuit priests who used to meditate in the area. The word ‘priest’ means ‘padre’ in Portuguese. Buraco do Padre is a cave which has an impressive 30m-high waterfall inside. The waterfall is formed by the River Quebra Perna. The cave is a kind of an underground amphitheater. To get into the cave it is necessary to walk along a1km path, which has natural obstacles. Although he access to the cave is easy, people with limited mobility might have problems walking up the rocks.

Buraco do Padre is a conservation area located in Itaiacoca region. Camping is not allowed. In 2005, it was integrated to the Campos Gerais National Park.

The access to Buraco do Padre is by the km 14 of Talco Highway (PR 513). A point of reference is the Campus Uvaranas of UEPG. From there, one has to drive 16 km then turn right into an unpaved road. After driving 6 km along the unpaved road, turn left to get to Buraco do Padre.

There are many trails in Buraco do Padre area along which the visitors can walk and enjoy nature. The main trail – which gives access to the waterfalls - has a walkway in difficult areas, enabling the access to the cave entrance. Diving and a water bath are good options for those who want to renew their energy with cold water.

To make the visitation to the place even better, there are grills available for visitors. It is possible to have a picnic or make a barbecue. Visitors must bring their own charcoal. Grills are available depending on the number of visitors. It is not needed to make a reservation neither to pay for using the grills.

The Café do Lobo is located inside the Buraco do Padre Park. it opens on weekends and holidays. Visitors can enjoy beverages, candies and pastries, besides the famous Pernil Sandwich and the “Milkshake Cachoeira” for dessert.

Also, near the Park there are the Kaffee Loch and Adega Porto Brazos, where you can appreciate good food and drinks.

Visitation time: Thursday to Sunday; holidays from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM.

Exit time: 7:00 PM.

Entrance ticket: R$ 16,00. Tickets are available in the park entrance.

Half-ticket price: R$ 8,00 – Only for children under 6 years old, elderly people over 60 years old, students, teachers and blood donors. ID card and documentation are required.

No special price for groups.

It is not needed to schedule visitation.

Tourist guides have free entry, must present the national tourism guide card.
