
The mansion was built in 1926 by Alberto Thielen, an industrial trader and leading figure in Ponta Grossa history. The mansion’s name is a tribute to his wife, Hilda Thielen. The mansion has two floors that were used by the family and their housekeepers. Inside the mansion there are paintings portraying European landscape, besides some local landscapes.
For many years, Villa Hilda Mansion was the headquarter of Ponta Grossa Public Library. Since 1996 it houses the Culture Foundation of the City. Between 2009 and 2015 it was the Tourism Foundation headquarter. The 600m2 mansion has a French neoclassical architecture and art – nouveau style. In 1990, it was declared Paraná Cultural Heritage.
